Dr.
Betty deMaye-Caruth, PhD., RN, CHTP, RM/T
Dr.
Betty deMaye-Caruth was born and raised
in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Queens until she relocated
to Pennsylvania in 1991. Dr. Betty has been a Registered
Nurse for over 30 years and holds a Masters Degree
in education and a doctorate in Holistic Health. Her
interest in holistic medicine has led her to become
Certified in Healing Touch, Aromatherapy and a Master
Instructor in Integrated Energy Therapy. Dr. Betty
also incorporates Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Aromatherapy
and Flower Essences in her private practice which
she opened up in Honesdale in 1996 providing services
for Wellness Counseling.
For
those who wish to stop smoking, Dr. Betty has also
become certified in the QuitSmart
Smoking Program™.
The
initial visit required is a flat fee of $40 and all
subsequent treatments are $35. Dr. Betty will provide
a sliding scale for her fees as the need arises. For

As
an educator, Dr. Betty teaches and coordinates seminars
on various holistic topics including Therapeutic Touch,
Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy for people and
for pets. In 1994, Dr. Betty founded the Minerva Educational
and Treatment Center to promote public awarness of
holistic healthcare options through workshops, meetings
and publications.
Dr.
Betty is active in several community organizations
including past President of the Rotary Club in Honesdale,
PA; an active member of Business and Professional
Womens Organization (Business Women of the Year in
1999), and is a retired Major of the United States
Army Reserves. Dr. Betty has also served as a consultant
for various television and radio programs, and was
voted "Best Holistic Practitioner" by the
Readers of the River Reporter in 2004 and 2005.
